The iStar 500 is a fully automated chemiluminescence immunoassay (CLIA) analyzer from Drawray. It uses acridinium-ester direct chemiluminescence — a light-emitting reaction — to measure hormones, tumor markers, and cardiac and infection markers with high sensitivity from a small serum, plasma or whole-blood sample.
Its compact benchtop design, single-test reagent strips and 11-minute time-to-first-result make it well suited to emergency and STAT testing, and to small and medium-sized laboratories and clinics that need dependable results without a large immunoassay line.
